Class Today (Tues Oct 13)

My apologies to the Stetson class - my son called me from school to come get him because he was sick. Fortunately it's nothing serious, just your standard student type of icky stomach. It may be a virus that's going around.

In any case, I was going to talk about Busses and Pointers today - another in the "What's in Your Computer" series. I've done an informal version and posted it online - and you should see it below if viewing the blog. (I don't know if it will make the journey into your email inbox).

Mac users: Alice download

I've had a few Mac people having trouble with getting a good copy of
Alice. Apparently the DMG file they have posted on the site is currupt (it
happens sometimes). The Alternate link copy is good - or you can surf over
to
http://www.cs.mercer.edu/courses/Tom%20Rule/Alice2.2MAC.dmg.zip
and pick up a zip file with the Mac version. (I've placed it in the Class
Files Stash).

I downloaded a good copy - checked it out - and then zipped it. This way
you can copy it to a flash drive from a Windows machine and the Mac OS will
still be happy with it.

NO CSC125 CLASS TUESDAY 10/6/09

I've been running a fever since Saturday - it's not the flu, just the standard "Macon Crud" that's been going around. Since I didn't particularly care to share my snottiness, I will not be there.

The labs will still be open, so you can work on myITlab and the Excel capstones.

Don't forget to download Alice and be palying around with it! Take a look at the Alice project while you're at it!
